Barbados Celebrates Nine-Medal Performance at 2026 CAC Games
Team Barbados has much to celebrate following a strong showing at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Barbados 2026 CAC Games delegation featured 141 athletes across 24 sports, with our athletes proudly representing the island against some of the best competitors from Central America and the Caribbean.
By the conclusion of the Games, Barbados had secured nine medals – two gold, five silver and two bronze – finishing 13th overall.
Squash Leads the Way with Historic Gold
Squash delivered some of the most memorable moments of Barbados’ campaign.
Margot Prow captured gold in the Women’s Singles, while fellow Barbadian Meagan Best secured silver.
Prow and Best then joined Amanda Haywood to make history in the Women’s Team competition, capturing another gold medal for Barbados. The achievement marked a historic team triumph for Barbadian squash at the CAC Games.
Strong Performances Across Team Barbados
Barbados’ success extended well beyond the squash court.
Stephen Slocombe and Kaipo Marshall combined to win silver in Men’s Doubles Tennis, while Chelsea Tuachadded a silver medal in Women’s Shortboard Surfing.
In triathlon, Matthew Wright produced an impressive performance to secure silver in the Elite Men’s Individual event. Wright then joined Fynn Armstrong to earn another silver medal for Barbados in the Men’s Team competition.
Bronze for Boxing and Women’s Hockey
Jabali Breedy added to Barbados’ medal tally with bronze in the Men’s 55kg Boxing competition, continuing his success on the regional stage.
Barbados’ National Women’s Hockey Team also delivered a strong tournament to secure bronze in field hockey, ensuring that the country’s medal success included both individual and team performances.

While medals provide a memorable measure of success, the Barbados 2026 CAC Games campaign represented much more. Every athlete who wore the national colours reached this stage through dedication, sacrifice, training and a commitment to excellence.
The experience gained at major international competitions also plays an important role in the continued development of Barbados’ athletes as they pursue greater success on the regional and international stages.
