Harrison College Crowned 2025 U19 Basketball Champions
The 2025 Co-operators General Insurance NSC Under-19 Basketball League Finals delivered a spectacular end to the season, with Harrison College (HC) reclaiming the championship title in an exciting showdown against rivals Queens College (QC). Before a lively crowd and an electric atmosphere, Harrison College secured an impressive 84–67 win, solidifying their position as one of the most dominant forces in secondary school basketball in Barbados.

The 2025/2026 Co-operators General Insurance National Sports Council (NSC) U19 Basketball Competition has officially tipped off — and what an opening day it was! The first games of the season delivered excitement, energy, and standout performances from Barbados’ top young basketball talents.
Festival 6 Softball Cricket 2025: Baileys Primary Triumphs in a Showcase of Youth Cricket
The island’s young cricket stars took center stage as the 2025 Festival 6 Softball Cricket Competition drew to a thrilling conclusion. Hosted by the National Sports Council, the tournament spanned multiple rounds at venues including the Blenheim and Bagatelle grounds. The competition served as both a development platform and a showcase of rising talent in Barbadian youth cricket.
NEW ERA OF BRTO
The Barbados Road Tennis Open 2025 (BRTO) wrapped up with fireworks at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, delivering unforgettable finals that may have changed the course of Barbados’ national sport forever. With over 100 athletes competing across multiple divisions and BBD $170,000 in prize money at stake, this year’s Open proved once again why it is the crown jewel of road tennis.

The 2025 Barbados National Bodybuilding & Fitness Championships, hosted by the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, came to an exciting close on Saturday, September 5, 2025 at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium. 19-year-old Kanye Cumberbatch, a second-generation Barbadian living in the USA, is making major moves on the mat! Representing Barbados, Kanye recently took GOLD in the Men’s U20 70kg Open Division! He’s proudly flown the flag for Barbados at:The U23 Pan American ChampionshipsThe Senior Pan American Beach Wrestling Championships in Queretaro, Mexico.Earned Silver at the 2024 Canada Beach Open. A product of USA High School folk-style wrestling, Kanye is now pursuing a degree in Sports Management while continuing to represent Barbados with pride. His goal? To help young Barbadian athletes gain exposure and compete on the USA wrestling circuit

Mr. Christopher Hinds
Mr. Hinds was so outstanding in his preparation of
the cricket grounds and pitches that he was selected
to undertake preparation of key grounds for the
Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) and the NSC
Herman Griffith Finals. In addition, he also prepared
grounds for international fixtures at Kensington
Oval, namely the England Series and the Caribbean
Premier League. Mr. Hinds also assisted in relaying
the pitch at the Farmers ground in St. Thomas during
2024.
