COVID-19 Rules for the Workplace

  • Non-essential visitors will not be allowed on the premises of the Council.
  • No member of the public is permitted to enter or remain within any enclosed space of the Council and/or its facilities unless, (a) the person is wearing a face mask, face shield or face covering which covers his mouth, nose and chin; or (b) there is strict compliance with physical distancing protocols (six feet) by all persons. Masks or face shields must also be worn by staff and any member of the public when entering pavilions.
  • Both visitors and staff will have their temperature checked and recorded before permission is granted to enter any of the Council’s facilities. Additionally, visitors must provide contact information for the purpose of contact tracing before proceeding on their business with the Council.
  • Payments should be as contactless as possible, with money being placed in a container and passed to the person receiving the cash.
  • All staff ought to maintain 6 feet physical distance at all times.
  • All staff must wear disposable or cloth face masks before entering their respective workplace, during their time at work and in public.
  • All staff should wash and clean their hands before entering and leaving their respective place of work, and frequently while at work.
  • All staff are urged to remain onsite and avoid going to local shops for break or lunch; you are therefore advised, where possible, to bring your meals and refillable drinking bottles from home. The use of the lunch room and other eating arrangements will be staggered to reduce congestion and contact.  Workers should sit six feet apart from each other while eating, and avoid all contact.
  • Workers will be expected to regularly clean the inside of work vehicles and between use by different operators who may be using the vehicles.  Persons using the Council’s vehicles both driver and passenger(s) are required to wear a mask or face shield.
  • Staff will be rostered and rotated and will work staggered hours as necessary to ensure that the health and safety of workers are not compromised.
  • Garbage collection and storage points should be increased and emptied regularly throughout and at the end of each day.
  • All common contact surfaces, such as countertops, door knobs/handles etc. are to be cleaned regularly.
  • The NSC will provide additional hand sanitizing dispensers for the staff which will be replenished at all times.
